IRAQ
This
is a terrible moment for the families and friends of the
three soldiers who have died serving their country and
I want to offer my deepest sympathy and condolences.
For
the close family of those who have been injured, this will
be an extremely worrying and alarming time. The Black
Watch are being exposed to a more hostile environment created
at least in part by the heavy handedness of the American
forces.
The sooner they are out of it the better. As the
preparations for the US assault on Fallujah reach a conclusion
I dread to think of the fate which awaits thousands of innocent
women and children in that city who will be caught in the
crossfire and suffer the consequences of misplaced artillery
and bombs. It has all gone horribly wrong.
