| The
Great Hall at Winchester resonated with thanks and praise
for over 300 people who were attending the Hampshire Volunteers
Reception, held by Hampshire County Council recently.
Their dedication to communities up and down the breadth
of Hampshire, enable Hampshire people to enjoy life to the
full. Children and teenagers, disabled, elderly, all have
the help and support of an unpaid army.

Pictured with Brian is a shining example of someone who
gives up their time for others. Barbara Rowlands has been
instrumental in developing the Hythe Youth Club.
She now
acts as a trustee, keeping a friendly eye on things, but
allowing others to take their turn in advising and supporting
today's teenagers. County
Councillor for Fawley, Lee Dunsdon, has also sung the
praises of volunteers from his neck of the woods, who were
at the reception too. (See

Both Brian and Lee agree that Hampshire has many wonderful
people who deserve recognition for their contribution to
community life, and in Brian's words:
"They're ALL stars!"
