Brian Dash, Parliamentary Campaigner, for the New Forest Liberal Democrats has paid a warm tribute to the members of the New Forest Committee, now disbanded.

In a letter to the press, Councillor Dash writes:

"One of the consequences of the new National Park Status for the New Forest has been the demise of the New Forest Committee. At the last meeting, it voted itself out of existence as from the end of March. All residents in the New Forest owe a debt of gratitude to those who served on the Committee, especially for the groundwork document "Strategy for the New Forest". As a member of the new authority, I hope I can contribute to building on the work."
